Sweet Francis Sewing Co is conveniently located in the historic Tumwater neighborhood, on Custer Way. We're in good company, near bridal-friendly beauty boutiques like Ooh La Lash + Beauty, Luxe Salon, Olympia Wax Bar, and Lonestar Salon. We serve PNW brides and their parties, mothers of the bride and groom, and provides alterations for pageantry and other formal occasions.
As a small business owner, I'm so thankful for the support of our Olympia community, and for the brides and clients who have helped bring the Sweet Francis Sewing Co daydream to life. When I open up shop in the mornings, I still sometimes get a little fuzzy feeling inside- there's just so much gratitude!

After attending and serving in dozens of weddings, I can't say I remember a wedding where I didn't shed a tear or two- it's true! I'm a sap what can I say? My favorite part of the ceremony is when the doors close and there's that excitement before the bride makes her entrance. It never gets old! I think that's what I love most about working as a bridal seamstress. I have the privilege of preparing a bride for that moment.

We'll have three fittings together, for a comfortable timeline to make sure everything is fitting just the way you want it to!
Sweet Francis Sewing Co offers alterations, steaming services, and cleaning and preservation services, to provide complete care for your gown every step of the way.
During our second fitting together, we’ll check the tailoring process to ensure your wedding gown is fitting is as expected. Your shoes will be required for this appointment to mark your hem. We’ll also use this fitting time to design your bustle, if you’d like to have your train pinned up for your reception. After the fit has been confirmed during this appointment, the final touches will be made to your gown before pickup!
Our second appointment will be 4-6 weeks before the wedding date.
If you’re anything like me, you like to know what to expect when starting something NEW! Here’s what you can expect when working with Sweet Francis Sewing Co for your bridal alterations. Most wedding gown alterations require three fitting appointments to achieve the perfect, custom fit. This allows for a more relaxed experience, and ensures attention to every sweet detail!
During this initial fitting and consultation, we’ll make a plan for your alterations based on your desired fit and your wedding day vibe. The dress will be pinned and measured for tailoring, and we’ll create a contract together. Each detailed cost will be communicated during your first appointment. However, general quotes are available before our first fitting- via email- upon request.
Our first appointment will be 10-12 weeks before the wedding date.
For your final appointment, the dress will be completed and ready for you to take home. During this fitting, we’ll take time to triple check the final fit. We’ll also talk through some tips for dress care and wedding day prep. And finally, we’ll practice pinning up your bustle, and record a video of the bustle for your bridal party to use on your wedding day. If you’re feeling extra, you’re welcome to arrive with your wedding day hair or makeup done, and bring any accessories you’re considering for the big day! The final appointment is a great time to see every detail come together and celebrate!
Our third appointment will be 7-10 days before the wedding date.
